Türkiye’s Eroğlu Moda Tekstil to invest $5.6 mln in Egypt garment factory: SCZONE

Turkish apparel manufacturer Eroğlu Moda Tekstil will invest $5.6 million to build a new ready-made garments factory at Egypt’s West Qantara Industrial Zone, the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) said on Monday.

The factory will be built on a 5,700-square-metre site and will be fully self-financed, SCZONE Chairman Waleid Gamal El-Dein said. The plant will produce garments, denim and textile products with an annual capacity of up to 1 million pieces, exporting about 95 per cent of output to global markets.

The project is expected to create around 700 direct jobs once fully operational.

Gamal El-Dein said Qantara West’s competitive advantages — including ready infrastructure, integrated supply chains and proximity to Mediterranean and Red Sea ports — make it an attractive base for export-oriented manufacturing. He added that the investment strengthens Turkish presence in the zone and deepens economic cooperation between Egypt and Türkiye in textiles and apparel.

He said the number of contracted projects at West Qantara has now reached 50, with total investments of about $1.352 billion, covering more than 3.464 million square metres and providing 70,365 direct jobs. The zone also includes projects developed with Main Development Company (MDC) to deliver ready-to-operate factories aimed at supporting small and medium-sized industries.

Eroğlu Moda Tekstil is a leading supplier of denim and textile apparel to global brands and applies sustainability measures such as industrial water recycling, laser-based dry processes and reduced wet processing using ozone technology.
