Egypt exports LNG shipment to Türkiye

Egypt exported a new liquefied natural gas shipment in January 2026 on behalf of Shell International from the Idku Complex. The 150,000-cubic-metre cargo is aboard the tanker METHANE BECKI ANNE and is headed to a port in Türkiye.

According to the Ministry of Petroleum, the exports are part of Egypt’s commitment to fulfilling contractual obligations with foreign investment partners and encouraging additional investments to boost domestic gas production. The exports also maximise the use of Egyptian liquefaction plants and support the country’s role as a regional hub for gas trade and distribution.
