Gold prices in Egypt fall even as Mideast tensions persist – Thursday, 5 Mar, 2026

Gold prices in Egypt fell on Thursday, bucking the usual safe-haven demand amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East involving Israel, the United States, and Iran.

By 15:42 Cairo time (13:42 GMT), 24-carat gold was trading at 8,200 Egyptian pounds per gram, down 131.5 pounds or 1.58 per cent from Wednesday’s 8,331.5 pounds. Other gold grades also recorded similar declines:
