Egypt’s Butagasco distributes 96 million LPG cylinders in 2025

Egypt’s Company for Transferring and Delivering Natural Gas (Butagasco) distributed around 96 million LPG cylinders in 2025, supporting market stability and meeting local demand, the Ministry of Petroleum said Sunday.

Egypt’s Company for Transferring and Delivering Natural Gas (Butagasco) distributed around 96 million liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders in 2025, supporting market stability and meeting domestic demand, the Petroleum Ministry said on Sunday.

Chairman Mahmoud Saleh said the company implemented the petroleum sector’s strategy efficiently. He made the remarks during the company’s general assembly meeting to approve 2025 results, attended by Petroleum Minister Karim Badawy.

Saleh said the transport fleet handled 37.5 per cent of total volumes. He added that 21.67 million cylinders were delivered directly to households, generating 151 million Egyptian pounds in revenue.

He said the Sohag plant produces up to 72,000 household cylinders per day, while the Tod plant in Luxor produces 25,000. The Assiut valve plant reached 164 million units in 2025, up from 55 million, achieving self-sufficiency in production.

Saleh said hotline requests rose 21 per cent to 172,000 after the expansion of call lines, improving service, and helping reduce informal distribution activity.

He added that the company has strengthened safety measures and plans to expand distribution centres, add production lines, and build new storage facilities. It is also studying the establishment of a plastics manufacturing project.
