Egypt’s Badr El-Din cuts drilling time by 10 days, saves $500k

Egypt’s Badr El Din Petroleum Company (BAPETCo) cuts drilling time by 10 days and saves $500,000 through advanced engineering solutions at the BED 16-33 well in the Western Desert, in cooperation with the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC). The Petroleum Ministry announced on Tuesday.

The results stem from an integrated engineering strategy focused on improving operational efficiency and increasing penetration rates using advanced drill bits, alongside real-time monitoring technologies and advanced data analysis. These measures reduced non-productive time and enhanced overall equipment efficiency.

The achievement supports the Ministry of Petroleum’s strategy to maximise the use of technology to boost productivity while cutting time and costs across upstream operations.
