Egypt to develop North Sinai coastal plan to attract tourism investment

Egypt will develop a master plan for North Sinai’s coastal area to attract tourism investment, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly said on Wednesday.

Madbouly said he has tasked the Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities with appointing a consulting firm to prepare the plan, as part of efforts to unlock investment opportunities in the governorate, particularly in tourism, agriculture, and industry.

He said North Sinai is a priority in Egypt’s national development plans and holds significant untapped investment potential.

The prime minister also referred to recent government visits to the region that included project inspections and meetings with lawmakers and local leaders.

Madbouly said the government is continuing to implement an integrated development programme for Sinai under a national initiative launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

He also marked the 44th anniversary of Sinai Liberation Day, reaffirming the government’s focus on development and infrastructure expansion in the peninsula.
