Egypt’s Ministry of Social Solidarity has activated the emergency plan for its relief teams nationwide following the earthquake felt by citizens in the early hours of Monday.

Social Solidarity Minister Maya Morsi is monitoring, around the clock, reports received by the ministry’s Central Control and Crisis Room, which is connected with emergency rooms across governorates.

The room received several reports, which were immediately addressed, while Morsi directed raising the maximum state of readiness across social solidarity directorates and ensuring their preparedness, along with the readiness of the Egyptian Red Crescent to respond to any developments.
