Egypt’s EGPC to launch digital portal to improve resource management

Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) plans to establish an electronic portal to make project surpluses and unused equipment available to petroleum sector companies. The initiative aims to strengthen integration between companies and improve asset and resource management.

The meeting also reviewed the establishment of a digital platform for environmental performance assessment indicators, enabling regular monitoring of companies’ environmental performance, supporting compliance with environmental standards and improving operational efficiency.

Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Karim Badawi stressed the importance of translating the sector’s targets into clear implementation programmes and measurable performance indicators, while continuing efforts to remove obstacles to increasing investment and accelerating exploration and production activities.

Badawi said increasing local production, maximising value added, reducing the import bill and improving the efficiency of the sector’s resource use are key pillars of the petroleum sector’s work plan for the coming period.

These efforts aim to strengthen the sector’s ability to meet domestic market needs and support the national economy.
