URGENT: Egypt’s remittances rise 27.2% in January-August 2026 – CBE

Remittances from Egyptians working abroad rose 27.2 per cent year-on-year to a record $33.9 billion in the first eight months of 2026, from $26.6 billion a year earlier, the Central Bank of Egypt said on Tuesday.

In August 2026, remittances increased 21.7 per cent year-on-year to approximately $4.2 billion, compared with $3.5 billion in August 2025.
