Egypt’s stocks closed lower on Monday with losses worth 3.6 billion Egyptian pounds (US$459.7 million).
The market capitalization has recorded 471.721 billion pounds during the closing session of Monday.
Indices
Egypt’s benchmark index, EGX30 edged down by 1.36 percent to 7587.07 points.
EGX20 shrunk by 1.88 percent to 7584.65 points.
In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 slumped by 0.87 percent to 413.98 points. The price index, EGX100 plummeted by 1.45 percent to 864.78 points.
Turnovers low
On Monday, the bourse’s trading volume has reached 133.357 million securities, with turnovers closed at EGP 1.771 billion, exchanged through 14.129 thousand transactions.
Also during the closing session, 157 listed securities have been traded in; 87 declined, 29 advanced; while 38 kept their previous levels.
Investors’ Activities
Arab and Non-Arab investors were net buyers on Monday getting 4.92% and 5.06% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 3.797 million and EGP 33.792 million, respectively, excluding the deals.
On the contrary, the Egyptian investors were net sellers seizing 90.02% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 37.589 million, excluding the deals.
