Lebanon, Egypt discuss maritime cooperation

Lebanon’s Transport Minister Ghazi Zeaiter met with his Egyptian counterpart Saad el-Geyoushi in Cairo Wednesday to discuss maritime cooperation.

The two discussed ways to “lay the foundation” for maritime cooperation, and looked at agreements to facilitate and regulate shipping, according to the statement.

It called for activating ports, developing an integrated transport system, and encouraging cooperation between shipping companies and cruise lines.

Zeaiter traveled to Cairo on Friday to begin discussions.
