Ashraf Abdelaty – head of African Division at Egyptian leading construction firm Arab Contractors – has received Chad’s Knight of Legion of Honour medal in recognisiion of the company’s distinctive role in carrying out Chadian developmental projects.
Arab Contractors is the first Egyptian company to be awarded the Chadian highest medal, said chairman Mohsen Salah.
Abdelaty received the medal from Chadian President Idriss Déby.
The company has commenced its activities in Chad in 1999, with current turnovers amounting to US$320 million.
Abdelaty told Amwal Al Ghad that Arab Contractors is implementing several key projects in Chad notably, the buildings of the Chadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and of the Central Bank of Chad.
Meanwhile, Arab Contractors had been awarded several honour medals including the Egyptian First Degree Order of Merit in recognition of its efforts to establish two main bridges in Cairo governorate.
It had also received an Order of Merit from Equatorial Guinea for accomplishing several infrastructure, housing, and health projects there.
Additionally, Arab Contractors received Cote d’ Ivoire’s Legion of Honour after it had delivered works on Jacque Ville Bridge project.
