The Wadi al-Natroun-Alamein road will be inaugurated next Thursday with total cost of 1.9 billion Egyptian pounds ($213million), the chairman of the Roads and Bridges Authority Adel Turk said Monday.
The road is 8 meters wide, 135-km long and divided into three lanes. The total cost of the renovations includes upgrades, toll gates and the addition of a third lane.
the renovated road will hopefully boost trade between Egypt and Libya, as well as domestic tourism movement between Cairo and the Northern Coast.
