Egyptian dairy maker Juhayna for Food Industries plans to start manufacturing some products of European leader in dairy products Arla Foods during the fourth quarter of 2016.
Juhayna Deputy CEO, Seif El Din Thabet told Amwal Al Ghad Monday that the company has already started distributing some products of the European firm in December 2015.
Juhayna is currently studying mechanisms of expanding in manufacturing and local production field during the few coming months, the official said.
In July 2015, Juhayna and Arla signed a strategic partnership agreement to form a joint venture under the name of “ArJu for Food Industries”.
ArJu aims at improving the domestic distribution and production capacity of cheese, butter, infant milk and other high-quality products.
Through this partnership, Juhayna eyes achieving returns estimated at €100 million by 2020 and set to by the end of 2016.
“Arla Foods” owns 49% of the new venture and Juhayna owns the remaining 51%.
