3996 firms investing in Suez Canal cities: GAFI

There are around 3,996 companies working in Suez Canal’s three cities, with total investments standing at 59 billion Egyptian pounds ($6.6 billion), said the Egyptian investment authority chief on Thursday.

Mohamed Khodeir, Chairman of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), further said works are underway to finalise measures to build a new complex for investment services in the free zone are in the canal.

The new complex is set to meet with GAFI’s future plans to offer more investments and facilitate measures for investors there, Khodeir added.
