BREAKING: Egypt’s supply minister resigns amid costly residency in 5-star hotel

Egyptian Supply Minister Khaled Hanafy announced Thursday his resignation in a press conference held after the meeting of the government.

The minister submitted his resignation to state’s Prime Minister Sherif Ismail during Cabinet’s meeting.

This comes after the allegations that the minister has been residing in a 5-star hotel since taking office last year, costing the ministry more than 7 million Egyptian pounds (US$ 788,093 thousands) .
