Egyptian-Russian trade exchange rises 62% in 2017

The volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Russia increased by around 62 percent, registering more than $6.7 billion during 2017, said Russian Trade Representative in Cairo Nikolai Aslanov on Saturday.

“The $6.7 billion encompassed Russian exports to Egypt worth $505 million,” Aslanov further told Middle East News Agency (MENA).

As for Russian exports to Egypt, the official referred that wheat represented 23 percent, recording $1.435 billion out of the total volume of Egyptian exports, while metals reached $703 million (11 percent) as well as oil and natural gas recorded $407 million (7 percet).

“Egyptian exports of fruits to Russia registered $209 million (41 percent), vegetables of $180 million (36 percent), and clothes of $37 million (7 percent),” Aslanov concluded.
