Football star Mohamed Salah is official brand ambassador of AlexBank

Egypt’s prolific striker and Liverpool’s forward Mohamed Salah was just named brand ambassador once again. AlexBank, part of Italian bank Intesa Sanpaolo, announced on Monday their new partnership with the Egyptian football champion.

The bank held a press conference at Anfield Stadium, Liverpool where the partnership was announced in the presence of Mohamed Salah along with AlexBank’s executives including chief executive Dante Campioni and head of retail and branch banking Sherif Lokman.

Soon after the signing of the agreement, CEO and Managing Director of AlexBank, Dante Campioni expressed his pride in collaborating with a champion such as Mohamed Salah. He even praised his hardworking spirit and great personality which he believes are inspiring to millions of people in Egypt, thus this makes him a perfect partner for AlexBank.

The partnership aims to help AlexBank’s customers engage with and become closer to their ever popular champion Mohamed Salah, Campioni added.

Sherif Lokman, Head of Retail and Branch Banking Group at AlexBank, said the bank is highly committed towards its customers, as it serves more than 1.5 million customers in Egypt. The bank’s card portfolio has reached to around one million cards, Lokman explained.

Lokman further said AlexBank hopes the partnership would help include thousands of Egyptians to the formal financial sector, aiming to achieve financial inclusion in Egypt, he added.

AlexBank has been the official card partner of Liverpool Football Club in Egypt since 2017.
