Dr. Nagwa Khalil, Minister of Insurance and Social Affairs, has decided offering EGP 4 million of the budget of this year as an urgent aid to the people of Halaib, Shalatin, and Abu Ramad. The aid is targeting needy and low-income families, in addition to one million EGP for assisting those whose lands have been seized in the framework of Nag’ Hammadi project.
In press statements issued on Sunday, the Minister said these aids express the Ministry’s desire to lend a hand to the citizens of Halaib, Shalatin, Abu Ramad, and the desert nomads especially those affected by the phenomena of desertification, drought, and water scarcity. She added that the Ministry represents the social component which is entrusted with formulating social policies during the coming period and providing programs for community development that can lead to family advancement.
