Egypt-Italy first trade forum to start today – minister
Egypt’s Supply Minister Ali Moselhy will open the first trade forum between Egypt and Italy today in the Italian city of Naples. A large number of Egyptian and around 200 Italian companies are set to participate in the four-day forum, Egypt Today reported on Sunday.
Ibrahim Ashmawi, head of the Internal Trade Development Authority (ITDA), said in a statement on Saturday that the forum is organized by Italian confederation of economic development in cooperation with the ITDA, according to MENA.
The forum will be also attended by key figures in the industrial field as well as businessmen to discuss investment opportunities, particularly in the fields of logistics, food manufacturing, shopping centers, supply chains, and wholesale markets.
Ashmawi further added that the forum will include the signing of an agreement between Egypt and Italy to enhance close cooperation between both countries.
It is worth mentioning that Egypt’s exports to Italy hit $1.24 billion during the first eight months of 2018, compared to $986 million during the same months of 2017. The Egyptian-Italian historical relations as central countries in the Mediterranean region represent a pivotal point for the development of bilateral relations and the activation of the joint working system to achieve the common interests of the Egyptian and Italian economies alike.
