Egypt explores North Coast, Red Sea projects with Malcolm Reading at BEBA London mission
Egypt is exploring potential cooperation with British consultancy Malcolm Reading Consultants on development projects along its North Coast and Red Sea regions, the Ministry of Housing said on Wednesday.
Minister Randa El-Menshawy discussed possible areas of cooperation with David Hamilton, Director of Projects at Malcolm Reading Consultants, during the British Egyptian Business Association’s (BEBA) business mission to the United Kingdom, according to a ministry statement.
The talks focused on urban planning, strategic master plans, and large-scale development projects in areas targeted for future investment and tourism growth.
El-Menshawy said Egypt was expanding investments in new cities, infrastructure, and sustainable development projects, creating opportunities for partnerships with international firms specialising in planning, design, and project management.
Representatives of Malcolm Reading Consultants outlined the firm’s experience in urban and architectural projects in countries including Saudi Arabia and Qatar and expressed interest in opportunities in Egypt, the statement said.
The two sides reviewed potential areas of cooperation in preparing strategic development frameworks and master plans to support urban development and investment projects.
Hamilton said the company was interested in exploring development opportunities in Egypt, citing the scale of infrastructure and urban projects undertaken across the country.
The two sides agreed to continue discussions on potential cooperation in urban planning and development projects in the North Coast and Red Sea regions, according to the ministry.
The discussions come as Egypt seeks to expand investment and tourism activity along its Mediterranean North Coast and Red Sea coastline, areas that have attracted growing government and private-sector investment in recent years.
