Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly chaired a meeting on Wednesday to review efforts to secure strategic fuel reserves and ensure the stability of energy supplies for citizens and various productive sectors.
During the meeting, Madbouly said Egypt is continuing efforts to strengthen energy security and ensure the stable availability of petroleum products in the coming period. Discussions focused on meeting domestic fuel demand, sustaining the operation of power plants, and supporting industrial and productive sectors.
The meeting also reviewed the financial requirements needed to secure petroleum products and production inputs, as part of efforts to maintain adequate fuel stocks and support economic activity.
Officials further examined progress on ongoing electricity projects, including measures to strengthen the national grid, improve efficiency, and expand electricity generation from renewable energy sources.
In addition, the session reviewed updates on the government’s IPO program for petroleum sector companies, as part of broader plans to restructure state-owned enterprises and improve governance across key sectors.
