Egypt’s Mokhtar Ibrahim eyes winning Kuwaiti infrastructure projects worth $1.3 bn

Egyptian Contracting – Mokhtar Ibrahim is studying the possibility of implementing water networks and sanitation projects in  Kuwait with total costs of 10 billion Egyptian pounds (US$1.3 billion), its chairman Fayek al-Banna said Saturday.

Al-Banna told Amwal Al Ghad that his company had sent a mission to Kuwait, seeking to win tenders for infrastructure projects there. Lately, the Kuwaiti  government has put out to tender five water network and sanitation projects worth 2 billion pounds each.

There are several Egyptian contracting companies that carry out giant projects in Kuwait, notably in roads and infrastructure sectors, he added.

Mokhtar Ibrahim seeks to carry out an expansion plan to double its volume of businesses abroad; it is studying to enter into infrastructure projects, notably in UAE and Oman, the official said.
