Egypt’s Petrojet wins Oman $90 million gas pipeline contract

Egypt’s Petrojet Company has won Sunday a $90 million contract to implement a new gas pipeline project in Oman’s Duqm Special Economic Zone (SEZ).

This was announced during a meeting between Mohamed Shemy, director of Petrojet, and Egyptian Minister of Petroleum Tarek El-Molla.

Petroject will be the general contractor to draw the design and carry out the Duqm gas pipeline at a length of 221 kilometers and a diameter of 36 inches, Shemy said.

The project is a new experience added to the Petrojet’s history and gives the company other competitive advantage added for future business, he added.

According to Petrojet’s report submitted to the Egyptian oil minister, the Duqm gas pipeline is one of the most important projects which are currently being implemented in favour of Oman Gas Company.

Petrojet has carried out many major petroleum projects were in the Middle East region, including Libya, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Yemen, Jordan, Algeria, Qatar, Lebanon, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Congo, and Oman.

Petrojet has recently won several contracts to execute a number of projects in Oman, including a police complex in Sahmah, a gas line in Salalah, and Kauther Condensate Line.
