Armed Forces Annual Iftar

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi affirmed that Egypt’s economy is showing positive signs, pointing to the recent approval of a new loan tranche from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as a key indicator of progress.

Speaking at the Armed Forces’ annual Iftar on Monday, he praised the resilience of the Egyptian people and the strength of state institutions, particularly the Armed Forces and civilian police, as pillars of stability in challenging times.

Acknowledging public concerns, President Sisi reassured Egyptians that the economic situation is improving, urging continued hard work and strategic planning to sustain development. He highlighted global and regional challenges, including the $800 million in monthly losses Egypt faces due to Suez Canal disruptions amid regional tensions.

The president also emphasised the importance of media’s role in shaping societal values, engaging in a discussion with actor Sameh Hussein and commending his Ramadan show. He called on families, schools, religious institutions, and the government to work collectively in fostering a principled society.

President Sisi concluded by commending the Armed Forces for their unwavering commitment to national security across all strategic fronts.
