Egypt’s Sisi, Kuwaiti Emir denounce Israeli strikes on Gaza, call for immediate ceasefire

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah reaffirmed their united stance on the escalating crisis in Gaza during a phone call on Tuesday. Both leaders strongly condemned Israel’s renewed attacks on the besieged enclave, calling it a blatant violation of international law and the ceasefire agreement.

In their discussion, President Sisi and the Kuwaiti Emir denounced the ongoing airstrikes, which have left hundreds of civilians dead or injured, including women and children. They warned that the offensive is part of deliberate efforts to render Gaza uninhabitable and force mass displacement of Palestinians.

The two leaders cautioned that continued Israeli aggression could lead to severe humanitarian consequences, regional instability, and the derailment of peace efforts. They urged the international community to take immediate action to enforce a ceasefire and push forward with the two-state solution. Both reiterated their unwavering support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

A spokesperson for the Egyptian Presidency highlighted the deep-rooted ties between Egypt and Kuwait, with President Sisi praising Kuwait’s progress under Emir Sheikh Meshal’s leadership. In response, the Kuwaiti Emir expressed his commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation to serve the interests of both nations.
