U.S. full economic recovery may need a coronavirus vaccine; says Fed’s Powell
U.S. full economic recovery may require the arrival of a coronavirus vaccine, said the country’s Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell on Sunday evening.
Powell told CBS on Sunday that “you wouldn’t want to bet against the American economy,” though the central bank chairman hedged that bet a bit.
In an excerpt of his interview with CBS, the central bank official said he sees the economy rebounding in the second half of the year, but said a full recovery “may have to await the arrival of a vaccine.”
