Egypt’s SCZone signs $28m textile deals in W. Qantara

Egypt’s Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) signed contracts on Sunday for two textile manufacturing projects in the West Qantara Industrial Zone, with total investments of $28 million.

The projects, covering 100,000 square metres, will focus on textile manufacturing, printing, and dyeing, creating 800 direct job opportunities.

SCZone Chairman Waleid Gamal El-Dien signed a $24.5 million agreement with China’s Changzhou Kingcason Printing & Dyeing Co. Ltd for a 60,000-square-metre facility dedicated to textile yarn manufacturing, dyeing, and printing, generating 500 jobs. The entire output will be exported.

A second contract, worth $3.5 million, was signed with Shanghai Honour Home Textile and its UAE-based subsidiary, Home Hub Textile, for a 40,000-square-metre project focused on home textiles, creating 300 jobs, with full export production.
