Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly has inaugurated the first manufacturing facility in Egypt and Africa for BSH, a subsidiary of German household appliance giant Bosch, with a total investment exceeding €55 million, fully funded by BSH Global, as per a Cabinet statement.
The facility was designed and built to the latest international standards and technologies and will serve as a regional manufacturing hub for BSH’s operations across Africa and the Middle East.
CEO and Managing Director of BSH Egypt and Morocco Luis Alvarez said the group’s decision to establish its first African plant in Egypt reflects a long-term strategic vision, recognising the country’s strong potential as a gateway to regional markets.
He added that the plant is integral to Bosch’s expansion plans in Africa and the Middle East.
The factory will initially produce over 350,000 gas cookers annually—developed with German engineering and manufactured by Egyptian talent. Around 50 per cent of the output will be exported to markets including Africa, the Middle East, Australia, Canada, and Latin America.
The company plans to introduce 90 cm-wide cookers tailored to consumer needs and expects the plant to generate approximately 1,000 direct and indirect job opportunities.
BSH officials also confirmed plans are in place for future expansion, with details to be presented to the prime minister soon.
