IMF mission begins fifth, sixth reviews of Egypt’s economic programme – PM
Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly said on Wednesday that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission has begun the fifth and sixth reviews of the country’s economic reform programme.
“The mission is already in Egypt and has started meeting with ministers and the Central Bank (of Egypt) governor. We are optimistic that everything is proceeding correctly,” Madbouly told a weekly press conference.
He highlighted that Egypt’s reform measures are progressing as planned, with some economic indicators surpassing targets agreed with the IMF. “The Egyptian reforms are indeed moving forward—thankfully, everything is on track,” he said.
