Golden Triangle hosts 95 mineral deposits worth 7.6% of Egypt’s total – EMRA head

Egypt’s Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone holds around 95 mineral deposits, representing about 7.6 per cent of the country’s total mineral resources, officials said on Monday.

Yasser Ramadan, speaking at an investment promotion meeting chaired by Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly, said the Mineral Resources and Mining Industries Authority (EMRA) supervises exploration and mining activities to ensure efficient use and preservation of the deposits.

The session reviewed plans to attract further investment, with officials presenting proposals from local and international companies aimed at boosting the value of phosphate and other minerals.

Madbouly stressed ongoing coordination with the Ministry of Petroleum to identify and promote new opportunities in the petroleum and mining sectors for both domestic and foreign investors.
