Egypt, Eni review exploration, production plans

Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum, Karim Badawi, met on Monday with Diego Portoghese, Head of the North Africa and the Levant Region at Eni, and Francesco Gasparri, General Manager of Eni Egypt. The meeting reviewed exploration and production activities across the company’s sites in Egypt and explored ways to strengthen cooperation.

During the meeting, the Minister highlighted the progress observed during his recent visit to the Meleiha fields in the Western Desert, alongside ongoing intensive operations in Abu Madi, noting that these developments reflect clear advancement in Eni’s exploration and production activities. He stressed the importance of maintaining the current pace, addressing challenges promptly, and ensuring continuous coordination.

For his part, Portoghese confirmed that exploration and drilling activities are continuing to advance, with plans to intensify operations in the coming period, supported by technical capabilities and qualified personnel, in order to help meet rising domestic demand, particularly during the summer period.
