Egyptian pound at 49.87/49.97 against dollar at midday – 10 August 2026

The Egyptian pound was little changed against the US dollar during midday trading on Monday, extending a period of relative stability across Egypt’s major banks.

The US dollar traded at an average of EGP 49.87 for buying and EGP 49.97 for selling across five major banks as of 12:35 local time (09:35 GMT), according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad English.

The pound has traded within a narrow range against the dollar in recent weeks, reflecting improved foreign-currency liquidity and broadly stable conditions in Egypt’s foreign exchange market.
