Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has urged citizens to exercise the utmost vigilance against electronic fraud deals.
Khaled Rizk, vice deputy foreign minister for consular affairs, said that citizens should be extremely cautious during making any financial transactions electronically but first they should verify the authenticity of recipients.
This comes after the widespread of cyber fraud cases witnessed by business owners and dealers at west Africa.
The Egyptian official added that cyber-fraudsters often provide their victims with temporary or false contacts which makes it almost impossible to find them afterwards.
Rizk further called upon citizens to be careful to make any financial transactions or money transfer only with accredited banks through irrevocable letters of credit. In addition, they can always visit the official website of the ministry for more tips and instructions.
