The United Bank has launched a national campaign to renew and improve the endoscopy unit at Imbaba Fever Hospital, said Mohamed Ashmawy, chairman of the United Bank.
Such move is part of the Central Bank of Egypt’s plan that was set in 1993 to develop such medical institution. The Central Bank of Egypt donated a device to the endoscopy unit but it broke down in 2009 and after that the United Bank resumed the national campaign to improve such institution.
The Egyptian Dar El Iftaa or (House of Fatwas) said that the hospital is worthy to receive support or charitable donations in the form of Zakat. The importance of the endoscopy unit in the Imbaba Fever Hospital is that all other hospitals in Egypt refuse to use their endoscopes to diagnose or treat people infected with fever in fear of contagion.
The Imbaba Fever Hospital diagnoses and treats all Infectious diseases such as Meningitis, Tetanus, Rabies, AIDS, Typhoid and advanced stages of Hepatitis C. Official statistics say that 20% of Egyptians are infected with Hepatitis C.
