Egypt prepares to launch national real estate ID system, eyes faster 5G Rollout
Egypt is preparing to implement a national real estate identification system following presidential ratification of a new law aimed at streamlining property registration and combating fraud, the Cabinet said in a statement on Wednesday.
Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly met with Communications Minister Amr Talaat to review progress on several digital transformation initiatives, including the Real Estate National ID Law, which recently secured parliamentary approval.
“The system will address title duplication, curb fraud through address manipulation, and simplify real estate transactions,” Minister Talaat said, adding that it will become the sole official identifier for properties in all state dealings.
Prime Minister Madbouly also reviewed updates on digital service integration across government platforms. Minister Talaat said 35 services are being consolidated under the Digital Egypt platform, with more to follow from agencies including traffic authorities, commercial registries, courts, and Egypt Post.
Separately, the minister reported that 16,900 individuals have registered for Egypt’s national tech-skilling initiative, Digilians with around 15,000 applying to its diploma and master’s programmes. The initiative aims to build a national talent base for the digital economy.
Minister Talaat also presented financial data from Silicon Valley’s tech zones and discussed employment levels and occupancy rates in cities including New Borg El Arab and New Assiut.
The meeting concluded with an update on Egypt’s 5G rollout. Minister Talaat said President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi had directed a fast-track launch to boost network capacity and support the country’s broader digital transition.
