Egypt’s Prime Minister inaugurates $3m Shangyuan steel factory in Sokhna

Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly inaugurated on Thursday the Shangyuan steel structures factory in the Sokhna Industrial Zone (SCZONE), with investments of $3 million.

The factory is built on an area of 15,863 square metres, with an annual production capacity of 15,000 tons of steel structures, and provides about 120 job opportunities.

The facility specialises in manufacturing various steel structures, including trusses, braces, scaffolding, roofs, and towers, in addition to blacksmithing and decorative metal works, as well as cutting and forming sheet metal, tinplate, and stainless steel products. It also produces cranes and steel structures used in residential buildings, cultural and sports facilities, transport hubs, bridges, and power stations.

The inauguration took place during Madbouly’s tour of the SCZONE. Madbouly said that such projects reflect the state’s success in attracting qualitative industrial investments based on technology transfer and knowledge exchange with international partners.
