Egypt’s trade with Lebanon hits $643 million in 2018

The volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Lebanon reached $643 million in 2018, with Egypt’s exports to the Arab country hitting $527 million.

Egypt’s imports from Lebanon stood at $116 million dollars in 2018, the cabinet media centre said in a report issued on Friday.

Stone products, cement, steel, cast iron, agricultural products, cosmetics, and home appliances topped the list of Egypt’s exports to Lebanon, while hair care products, wheat, scrap metal and books accounted for Egypt’s key imports from Lebanon.

With total investments of $1.16 billion in 1,342 companies, Lebanon has been labelled Egypt’s third fastest growing foreign investor since 2011.

Lebanon is ninth among countries with investments in Egypt, the report added.
