The amounts of banknote issued by the Central Bank of Egypt surged by EGP 276.1 billion at October2013 compared to EGP 275.2 billion at the end of September from this year, move up by EGP18.9billion, according to the CBE’s latest report.
The large domination of the EGP 200 banknote ranked first with issuance amounts of 44.3% recording (EGP122.5billion) .
In addition, another large domination of the EGP 100 banknote came second attaining amounts of issuance of EGP112.5 billion at October-end 2013.
The total volume of currency trading outside the CBE hit a record EGP 272.7 billion at the end of October, against EGP 271.3 billion at September-end.
