Egypt’s Ministry of Labour announced that the Cairo Governorate Labour Directorate has provided new work contracts to residents with disabilities as part of efforts to integrate them into the labour market, as per a Cabinet statement.
The Director of the Cairo Labour Directorate Sayed El-Sharkawy stated that 14 new contracts have been delivered to youth in the governorate to work in private companies such as Sunny Pharma, Hyper One, and Shawwa Plastics.
These opportunities are provided by Law No. 10 of 2018, Labour Law No. 12 of 2003, and relevant ministerial decisions, ensuring a five per cent employment rate for establishments with 20 or more workers.
Minister of Labour Mohamed Gibran instructed directorates to intensify efforts in line with the presidential initiatives, especially the New Beginning for Human Development Initiative, focusing on human development and providing a decent life.
