Egypt, Kuwait explore future economic partnerships
Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El-Khatib met on Sunday with the Egyptian-Kuwaiti Cooperation Council to explore new avenues for economic and investment cooperation between the two nations.
Chaired by Mohammad Jassem Al-Sager, the meeting focused on Egypt’s efforts to enhance its business climate and attract greater Kuwaiti investment.
Minister El-Khatib highlighted key government initiatives aimed at improving the investment environment, including streamlined procedures and close coordination with the Kuwaiti council to address investor concerns. He also emphasised the government’s ongoing reforms, such as the introduction of Golden Licences for strategic projects – with 44 licences granted to date – which aim to facilitate business operations.
The minister emphasised that Egypt presents a compelling range of investment opportunities across various sectors, making it an attractive destination for Kuwaiti businesses. He further highlighted upcoming financial, monetary, and tax reforms designed to ease the burden on investors and support Egypt’s economic growth.
Minister El-Khatib concluded by reiterating the government’s unwavering commitment to fostering a competitive and welcoming investment environment, with streamlined regulations and robust support for both local and foreign investors.
